A Nonprofit Focused on Sustainability & Lasting Results

Sustainability and lasting results are at the core of everything we do. We are dedicated to implementing initiatives that not only create immediate impact but also have a long-term, enduring effect on the communities we serve. By prioritizing sustainability, we ensure that our efforts continue to benefit communities for generations to come. Through innovative approaches, strategic partnerships, and a commitment to accountability, we strive to create lasting positive change that stands the test of time.

Our Mission & Vision

To empower and uplift underserved communities on Chicago's Southside through comprehensive violence prevention, skills building, economic empowerment, and workforce development initiatives. We aim to equip hundreds of youth, young adults, and residents with the tools, resources, and support they need to lead safe, productive, and fulfilling lives.

We envision a Southside where every individual, regardless of background or circumstance, has the opportunity to thrive. By providing evidence-based and trauma-informed programs that address violence prevention, skills enhancement, economic empowerment, and workforce development, ATV strives to create a community where all residents can unlock their full potential, contribute meaningfully to society, and build a brighter future for generations to come.

Who We Serve
& Where We Lead

Youth & Young
Adults

We are dedicated to serving youth aged 10-14 and young adults aged 15-24, recognizing the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals within these crucial developmental stages. Our tailored programs are designed to provide support, guidance, and opportunities for growth, empowering them to navigate life's complexities with confidence and resilience. By fostering a safe and inclusive environment, we strive to cultivate the potential of each participant, equipping them with the skills and resources necessary to thrive, not just survive.

Returning Adults & Asylum Seekers

ATV is committed to serving returning adults, including ex-offenders, and asylum seekers, recognizing the importance of providing support for individuals seeking to rebuild their lives. Our programs are designed to offer educational resources, nutritional support, health assessments, housing assistance, job training, and community integration support, tailored to the unique circumstances and needs of returning adults and asylum seekers. Through empowerment and advocacy, we aim to facilitate successful reentry into society and provide a pathway to self-sufficiency and belonging.

Residents of Chicago’s Southside

We are also deeply connected to serving residents of Chicago's Southside, with a particular focus on neighborhoods such as: Chatham and surrounding areas including: Avalon Park, Greater Grand Crossing, South Shore, Burnside, Calumet Heights, Roseland, Pullman, West Pullman, Washington Heights, and Auburn Gresham. Our programs are tailored to address the specific needs and challenges faced by individuals and families within these communities, aiming to foster positive transformation and sustainable growth.

“Our team is representative of the communities we serve. We understand first-hand their needs and requirements. From case management to victims services, we deliver impactful resources. Not only do we change lives, we are preparing future generations for long-term success.”
